Can I meet you before the wedding?

Absolutely! Choosing a wedding photographer is a BIG deal! I know you have a million questions and I’m happy to answer them for you. If you are interested in having me photograph your big day please get in touch and we can set up a time to meet for coffee and a chat. I would love to hear all about your wedding plans (I’m a wedding addict!) and what you have in store. I also include a complimentary engagement session with all of my wedding packages. They are a great way to get to know each other even better, and for you to get used to being the star of your very own portrait session.

What can I expect from my engagement session?

Engagement sessions are one of my absolute favorite things to photograph! I LOVE to have a chance to meet you and your soon to be spouse, to talk, laugh and just learn all about you. A lot of my clients come in nervous about being photographed and leave feeling like they’ve just had a relaxing afternoon with friends. If this happens to you I will know I’ve done my job! Please come dressed in clothing that you feel comfortable in, that reflects you and makes you feel like a million bucks… and unless you make a habit of dressing just like your significant other, please no matching outfits! We will spend an hour or two at an outdoor location of your choice (if you don’t have one in mind don’t worry, I’m always full of ideas!) and capture some amazing portraits for you to use in your save the date cards and guestbook, or just to wallpaper your new home with

What should I expect on my wedding day?

I always work with a second photographer and I want to make sure that your entire day is captured from top to bottom, every last detail. I typically arrive to photograph your wedding 2 hours before the ceremony. This allows me time to photograph you putting the last finishing touches on “getting ready” (both bride AND groom) and grab some portraits of the bridal party. I don’t typically photograph a “first look” session between the bride and groom before the ceremony unless it’s specifically requested by the couple. It’s your wedding day and the choice is up to you – but I prefer the more relaxed look of images captured after you’ve said your “I Do”s. After your wedding ceremony I usually photograph the family portraits as well as some more bridal party portraits with both bride and groom together – and then we’re off for one of my favorite parts of the day – the couples portraits! Nothing is more beautiful than a bride and groom dressed to the nines, bathing in the afterglow of a beautiful wedding ceremony. You will look (and feel!) like a million bucks and I cannot wait to show you how magical you are in that moment!

After your couples portrait session it’s off to the cocktail hour and reception. Eat, drink and be merry, I will be there with my second photographer to capture the whole thing! Other than the posed formal portraits I like to blend into the background as much as possible. No cheesy smiles or faked cake cutting here – just you, your guests and your amazing day. I can’t wait to see what you have in store!

Will my wedding images be in black and white or color?

I love color. LOVE it. Since I shoot in digital format, most of the images from your wedding day will be show in your online gallery in color. Occasionally an image will just “feel better” in black and white and in this case I will do the conversion before uploading it to the gallery. Please note that images in color can almost always be converted to black and white for print or album orders, but images shown in black and white can not be converted to color.

When will my wedding images be ready??

I know that you after the wedding you will be anxious to see your images. I typically post a few “sneak peek” images on my facebook page or blog right away. The rest of your images will be posted in a password protected gallery for you to view and order within 3-4 weeks. Your images will be live online for 30 days, after which time they will be archived for up to one year.

Do you sell wedding albums?

Wedding albums are one of my favorite things – beautiful images, beautiful fabric or leather covers, thick luxurious pages. What’s not to love?! Of COURSE I sell albums! Several of my packages come with an album credit towards the book of your choosing, larger sizes and more intricate options are available for an additional fee. Please let me know if you’re interested in knowing more about my album options.

Will I be able to have a copy of the digital images?

Of course! All of my wedding collections include a disc of digital images from your wedding day and engagement session. This is YOUR special day and I want YOU to have the images. Please take care with your digital images – while I do my best to provide archival quality discs it is always best to make a backup of your images (or two or three!) to make sure that your precious memories are safe.
