Baby Charlotte {Newborn}

Whew… it feels like it’s been forever since I’ve blogged!  Don’t be mad… I’m just so ridiculously busy it’s insane!  I have been out of town EVERY WEEKEND this month and I’m going to be out of town AGAIN this weekend shooting another wedding.  I’m exhausted just thinking about all the traveling I’ve been doing!  The most exciting trip by far was the one we just got home from… a super quick hop over to Kansas to visit Ben’s sister Kate and her husband Jon.  They just had a brand new baby girl Charlotte, which means I’m an aunt!  I know I’m already a mom but there’s something totally different and exciting about being an aunt.  Maybe it’s the fact that I can play with and ooh and ah over how adorable she is, but the poopy diapers aren’t my responsibility ;)

Since she was only a week and a half old when we visited I was able to take some awake shots AND some darling sleepy newborn shots of her.  I just love them!  Here are my favorites (although it was SO hard to pick, she’s the second cutest baby girl ever)

When I first started shooting she was so wide awake and curious. Don’t you just love her eyes?!

After a little milk break she decided to get sleepy and I love these ones!

Kate and Jon CONGRATS! I couldn’t be happier, honestly! I love your little baby girl and I am so happy to finally have gotten a chance to meet her! Yay for baby cousins!

Baby Olive {Welcome to the World}

One of my very best friends had her new baby girl on Monday night and I went down to visit her in the hospital on Tuesday. Have you ever seen such a beautiful face?! I couldn’t believe how tiny she seemed to me, even though she was several pounds heavier than my babies were at birth. They grow so fast it’s amazing! Here are a few pictures of the sweet baby girl.

Congratulations Valena and John, your new baby girl is gorgeous!

Time flies!

I can’t believe I haven’t posted since Halloween… I’m such a bad blogger!! I just wanted to give a little update on what I’ve been doing for the past few weeks.

Most of my time these days is taken up by feeding babies and changing diapers… but when the babies are napping I’m busy as ever with fabulous new photo projects! ‘Tis the season to do album design and I have a lot of fabulous albums on the way out that I’ll be sure to show off when they arrive. I’m also making some major updates to my portfolio website so look for that soon.. and I have a few photo shoots up my sleeve as well so stay tuned!

For now I just have to stop and say … hey… where did the last 8 weeks go?! My sweet little (teeny tiny) newborn babies are now 8 weeks old! I can’t believe how much bigger they are already! Here are a few quick shots from this morning… looking cute as ever :)

Stick around for more bloggy goodness coming soon…

Our babies are home!

I just wanted to put a quick update on here (lots of baby updates these days :) ) that the babies are home from the hospital! Ben and I are so happy to have our whole family all together, it’s been fantastic (and a bit tiring) to have everyone together at last!

I am very excited to do a newborn shoot with my very own babies (how cute does that sound?) but I haven’t quite had time these first few days. We’re still trying to figure out how to get everything done and survive with very little sleep, but I do have a few “unofficial” photos of the babies at home, just because what’s a baby update post without baby photos?!

Daddy on the couch with his two favorite babies

Baby bath towels are pretty much the cutest things ever… and since the babies were in the NICU for so long their cords are both already off… meaning that they can have baths! SOOO cute!

And one last photo… I read in a book that twins are more “aware” of each other than other single babies would be of any other single baby. I think it’s definitely true because when we lay Amelia and Paul down in their crib on separate ends, on their backs, they immediately skooch in towards each other and end up facing each other in the middle.

Even though we are now all at home and don’t have to spend our time driving to and from the NICU (thank goodness!!) we are still pretty short on time (we have two babies can you blame us?!). If you send me an email and it takes me a while to get back to you please be patient. We are trying to figure out the whole “parent” thing while staying sane and still getting work done. It’s quite a juggling act… but we couldn’t be happier. Yay for babies at home!!
