How excited am I?!

Sorry to say that this post has absolutely nothing to do with photography… but I just couldn’t help myself!! I absolutely cannot believe that one of my best friends is going to be the star of a new TV show called Legend of the Seeker and it is starting on Saturday!! I posted a while back photos of my friend Bridget and then posted again when she was starring in a Broadway show last year but this is so much bigger and more exciting it’s unbelievable :)

Bridget and I have been friends since we were kids and I’ve watched her go from community children’s theater to high school theater to Broadway and TV commercials… and now this. I am so unbelievably proud of her and all that she has accomplished and I cannot wait to watch her every week on her new show! Here are a couple of super fun things for you to check out so you can share in my excitement :) …. a promo photo…

An interview with Bridget from earlier this week on The View… can you believe it?! Bridget on The View!! So freaking cool!

And an interview with her from the “making of” show that aired last week…

Legend of the Seeker will be on Saturdays starting this week so make sure to check it out!! I cannot wait! Congratulations Bridget… I love you and I always knew you’d make it big :)

Our babies are home!

I just wanted to put a quick update on here (lots of baby updates these days :) ) that the babies are home from the hospital! Ben and I are so happy to have our whole family all together, it’s been fantastic (and a bit tiring) to have everyone together at last!

I am very excited to do a newborn shoot with my very own babies (how cute does that sound?) but I haven’t quite had time these first few days. We’re still trying to figure out how to get everything done and survive with very little sleep, but I do have a few “unofficial” photos of the babies at home, just because what’s a baby update post without baby photos?!

Daddy on the couch with his two favorite babies

Baby bath towels are pretty much the cutest things ever… and since the babies were in the NICU for so long their cords are both already off… meaning that they can have baths! SOOO cute!

And one last photo… I read in a book that twins are more “aware” of each other than other single babies would be of any other single baby. I think it’s definitely true because when we lay Amelia and Paul down in their crib on separate ends, on their backs, they immediately skooch in towards each other and end up facing each other in the middle.

Even though we are now all at home and don’t have to spend our time driving to and from the NICU (thank goodness!!) we are still pretty short on time (we have two babies can you blame us?!). If you send me an email and it takes me a while to get back to you please be patient. We are trying to figure out the whole “parent” thing while staying sane and still getting work done. It’s quite a juggling act… but we couldn’t be happier. Yay for babies at home!!

A quick baby update

Thank you so much to everyone for the warm words of welcome for our little peanuts!

This has been a bit of a tough week for Ben and I, the babies are both still in the NICU and we have been at home without them since I was discharged from the hospital last Sunday. Amelia and Paul are both doing fabulously, but the doctors wanted to keep them in the hospital until they were absolutely 100% sure that they would be eating well and gaining weight on their own at home. We still don’t have a solid date on when they will be released, but we’re getting hints that it might be this week, which would be VERY exciting!

I can’t believe how much they have both changed and filled out (getting chubby cheeks!) already in less than two weeks! I am running out the door now on the way to the hospital but I thought I’d post a few more recent photos of our lovely babies before I go.

And the fabulous duo together!

Introducing our little peanuts!

Wow!! What an unbelievable day (and night) yesterday! Being pregnant with twins is tough stuff. If you’ve been following my wedding posts you’ll know that I had to have some great backup shooters cover my last weddings for me since I was put on bedrest a few weeks ago. The idea was to stop any signs of preterm labor and keep our babies growing inside as long as possible.

Well earlier this week our doctor decided that the bedrest at home just wasn’t enough and I was checked into the hospital on Tuesday. They had a hunch that the babies were on the way, so they wanted to make sure that they (and I) got as much attention and monitoring as possible. Since they were going to be early I was given a series of shots to help mature the babies’ lungs and we are so glad that I did because the babies are breathing fabulously!

Long story short(er) at around 2:00 in the afternoon yesterday the doctors decided that my mild preterm labor contractions had transitioned into full blown labor and it was birthday! The whole experince from that point on was a complete whirlwind. Apparently when I go into labor I REALLY go into labor :) The doctor’s first estimate was that the babies would be born between midnight and 3 am, so he went home planning to come back later. By 6:30 that evening they were frantically paging the doctor to come back because the babies were ON THE WAY!! I can’t believe how fast the whole process went, the babies were born at 7:50 and 7:57, completely shocking everyone with their speedy arrival!

And now the part you’ve been waiting for…. photos!! The little guys had to go to the NICU for a checkup even though they were looking great, so Ben went with them and took some super cute photos for me to see them… meet our peanuts!

Amelia Ann, weighing in at 4lbs 13oz, 18 inches long

and Paul Joseph, weight and height EXACTLY the same as Amelia :)

Ben and I are over the moon! I can’t believe our little ones are here and I can’t wait to bring them home with us. I will be in the hospital for a few days, and the babies will be as well. Hopefully we will all be together at home in a week or two. Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and encouragement, we really appreciate it :)

Coming Soon…

I’m back in the office after a relaxing week with family. I’ll be putting up a few of my favorites from our family reunion in the next day or so… but I just couldn’t resist sharing this one as soon as I saw it. I think my sister in law might have the second cutest dog I’ve ever seen (second only to my own of course :) )
