Jenny and Jeremy make me smile. A big squishy goofy grin to be exact. I’ve known Jenny for a long time. Ten years give or take. And she’s one of the funniest, nicest, most awesome people I know. When I heard that she was dating someone who was the exact perfect match for her, the “male version of Jenny” as someone put it, I was skeptical. How can someone be as fun and crazy as Jenny but still be as sweet and awesome and… well… fabulous? But as soon as I met Jeremy I knew it was the truth. These two go together like peanut butter and jelly. They’re only made better by being near each other and I just have to say that their engagement session in Balboa Park was one of the most fun shoots I have ever done. Period. It was nonstop singing, dancing, jumping and smiling. As I was getting in my car to drive home I realized that my sides hurt from laughing so hard, and my face was in a perma-grin. You just have to know that I could NOT decide which photos to post so I went a little nuts. I might even post a slideshow later because I’m not kidding you there are just THAT MANY fun shots from this shoot. So on to the photos…
How. Stinkin. Cute. Seriously… don’t you love them already?
I love how they make each other laugh
And the action shots! Can I just take a second right now to tell you about the action shots?! I know there are some people out there (not many of my clients though, I can tell you that much) that think they’re too “cool” for jumping shots. I personally think they’re ridiculously fun. Especially if you decide to go for a running, leaping, full body chest bump into a swing around. Now that my friends makes for good photography
Seriously though. These two are a blast!
This is one of my favorites… Jenny is just a hair shorter than her future husband
More jumping. I’m sorry Jenny, your vertical leap has nothing on Jeremy’s. Check out that air!
And oh yes, we took a couple of “serious” ones as well
This is why it’s called the “magic hour”… how I love our San Diego sunlight!
Ok… enough with the mushy stuff… back to the action shots. Check out this ninja move. And no, I totally did NOT plan this. Every time I looked down to change a lens or switch my settings these two would be up to something hilarious. I love it!
A few last sweet shots
Jenny and Jeremy you have no idea how much I’m looking forward to your wedding. It’s going to be the best, I can already tell
The voting closed last night at midnight for the Spread the Love giveaway… and the winner is….
Amanda and her retro re-creation!
Congratulations to Amanda.. it was a close race in the end but with two hundred votes for our winner it’s decided! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who voted… I can’t wait for this session, it’s going to be fabulous!
And just because I can’t post without a photo, here’s a sneak peek of the next engagement session coming up on the blog. Bet you can’t wait for more
Sarah and Eli are ridiculously cute. And don’t worry… I warned them ahead of time that I was somewhat addicted to the word cute, and since they ARE so cute that it might get overused with reference to them
We met up in old Carlsbad for their engagement session and had such a blast wandering around to a couple of random spots I had scoped out. These two are so much fun and it was Sarah’s birthday which made it extra fun! These two are a pretty adventurous couple… I was treated to tales of all of the dangerous situations Eli had gotten them into.. including getting chased by a bear! With a past like that the engagement session must have been a breeze in comparison
They were totally up for anything and smiling the entire time which is just so… dare I say? Cute! With a couple as photogenic as this one I was bound to come out with heaps of favorites, but I managed to whittle it down to a reasonable number. Here goes.. my favorite shots of Sarah and Eli… enjoy!
I told you they were cute… come on! Look at these two
One of their favorite couples activities is bike riding so Eli managed to talk a local bike shop owner into letting us get a few quick shots on his tandem bike… fun!
One of my favorites
Sarah and Eli I had such a great time with you at your engagement session! I absolutely cannot wait for the wedding!
Well I’m back in town… did you miss me
I had an amazing week with my sister and her wedding was FABULOUS. I can’t wait to show you some pictures but there are approximately 200 million of them and it might take me a while to sort through all of them. In the meantime I have so much to post to get you all caught up on what I’ve been working on for the past few weeks. First up is an engagement session that I shot in Carlsbad for Sarah and Eli. They are getting married this summer and I can’t wait for their wedding, they are such a blast to work with! More images will be coming very soon but for now here’s one of my favorites!
Nick and Emma are fabulous. That’s just all there is to it
Emma is one of my sister’s best friends and roommates from college so when she emailed me to ask if I would be their wedding photographer I waited about one nanosecond before responding OF COURSE!! I am so ridiculously excited for their wedding up in a vineyard in northern California (can you say scenic?!) and I know it’s going to be just amazing. The lovely couple came down to southern California for my little sister’s bridal shower (more on that soon!) and so we scheduled their engagement session for the same trip to save them a flight
Emma wanted their shoot to be in a more natural location and when she asked if it could be in a flower field I was unbelievably excited about the idea. We get these amazing yellow wildflowers every year that just cover the hillsides and I’ve been dying to shoot an engagement session in one for ages! I scouted out this location up in Malibu a few weeks ago and I was so glad to hear that they were up for my plan of lugging a dining room chair into the field for the shoot
I just can’t get enough of this session so you’re gonna see quite a few of my favorites, lucky you!
Here goes:
Nick and Emma thanks so much for letting me shoot in such a ridiculously gorgeous location, and for being such fantastic models! I cannot wait for your wedding
