Happy Anniversay AND Happy Birthday {My Life!}

What a week!!

Saturday was Amelia & Paul’s first birthday… where does the time go?! We headed down to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for a big birthday bash which went amazingly well, better than I ever could have expected. Who knew babies could have so much fun at a birthday party?! They loved the cake, they loved their new toys… it was fabulous!

And TODAY is our third wedding anniversary. Amazing! Ben and I have been together for 8 years, which at this point kind of seem like forever :) I really can’t remember a time when he wasn’t in my life. Throw in a couple of kids and I seriously CANNOT believe that this is only our third wedding anniversary, it feels about like our 500th. In a good way of course. Ben is my 100% perfect match. He has had my back and been my biggest fan for as long as we’ve been together. Not to mention being my best friend. Our wedding day was one of the very best days of my life and I will never forget how amazing it was to be surrounded by so very much love from all of our friends and family! So here’s to three great years! I love you Ben! A few of my favorite wedding photos by the amazingly talented Nate & Jaclyn Kaiser.

Part I: Nick & Emma {Married!}

This post is a long time in coming and I know Emma’s dying to see the pictures :)   The wedding was just TOO fabulous and I couldn’t decide which images to post so I got a little carried away and picked about a million (as I tend to do)  To make it more manageable I’m going to post in two parts, up first details and ceremony with a few portraits, next post will be the reception! The wedding was held at the gorgeous Oak Farm Vineyards in northern California.  It was a perfect day for a perfect couple!  Of course it was made even more amazing due to the absolutely perfect florals by Embellish Floral All together it was a ridiculously fabulous day and I am so honored that I could be there to document it!

Without further ado… the images.

Loving this ring shot

Nick and Emma I had such a blast at your wedding! Stay tuned for Part II of your wedding blog post soon!

Where have I been?! {My Life}

If you’re a loyal blog follower (and I know you’re out there ;) ) you’ve probably noticed that the posting has been few and far between (sorry!!). It’s not because I’m not busy. It is, in fact, exactly the opposite! I have been out of town EVERY.SINGLE.WEEKEND this month and it’s been craziness!

Just to give a little update on where all of my travels have taken me here’s a brief recap :)

The first weekend in August I headed off to my 10 year high school reunion. Ok, I’m lying a little. It wasn’t MY 10 year reunion but it might as well have been! All of my friends in high school were in the class of ‘99. The fact that I wasn’t in that class as well is just a technicality :) I got to see some of my very best and oldest girlfriends and it was so much fun!

The next weekend was my birthday (shared with my mom of course) and we had a birthday weekend at their house, so the babies got a lot of quality grandma and grandpa time, as well as a few fun new toys. They love it there!

After that… get ready for it…. HOUSEBOATING TRIP! Yes, we must be crazy, we took our 11 month old twins on a houseboat and wakeboarding trip with my family. It was actually amazingly fun and it went really well (who would have thought?!) and I even remember how to wakeboard. I was pretty pleased with myself for remembering :)

Next trip (are you getting tired reading this?! I’m tired just remembering all the travel!) we hopped a plane to Kansas City to visit my sister in law and their brand new baby girl. I already posted pictures of baby Charlotte but what I didn’t post yet are a few of the pictures of the plane ride (it was the first time they got to sit in seats… very exciting!) or their time with their grandparents. We flew Midwest Airlines, which gives you fresh baked cookies they make on the plane (awesome!) and amazing service. How can you beat warm cookies on an airplane?!

And finally… this last weekend… San Francisco! Of course I had the amazing wedding of Nick & Emma to photograph but I also happen to have lots of friends and family up in the bay area. We got to spend a few days in the city and eat some DELICIOUS food at the Universal Cafe (doesn’t this just make you drool?)

Plus one of my very best friends is getting married (to another of our good friends, convenient how that works out!) and we went wedding dress shopping at the amazing Amy Kuschel boutique. I won’t post any pictures of Jean in the dresses (it’s got to be a surprise for Tyler!) but this store was literally brimming with beautiful things. Love it!

Now that I’m finally home it’s catch up time! Lots of beautiful wedding images and blog posts coming your way soon!

Sneak Peek: Emma & Nick {Married!}

What do you get when you cross an absolutely GORGEOUS bride with a handsome groom on a fabulous late summer day in a picturesque vineyard in northern California? Why, Nick and Emma’s wedding of course! I know I say this about all of my weddings (because it’s true!) but this was one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever seen! Emma looked positively radiant and Nick was just beaming from ear to ear. They had the fantastic backdrop of the Oak Farm Vineyards for their big day and it was simply stunning all around! I just flew back yesterday and I’m still getting my bearings, so the full blog post will have to wait for a day or two. For now here’s a little bitty sneak peek. Congratulations Nick & Emma!

Baby Charlotte {Newborn}

Whew… it feels like it’s been forever since I’ve blogged!  Don’t be mad… I’m just so ridiculously busy it’s insane!  I have been out of town EVERY WEEKEND this month and I’m going to be out of town AGAIN this weekend shooting another wedding.  I’m exhausted just thinking about all the traveling I’ve been doing!  The most exciting trip by far was the one we just got home from… a super quick hop over to Kansas to visit Ben’s sister Kate and her husband Jon.  They just had a brand new baby girl Charlotte, which means I’m an aunt!  I know I’m already a mom but there’s something totally different and exciting about being an aunt.  Maybe it’s the fact that I can play with and ooh and ah over how adorable she is, but the poopy diapers aren’t my responsibility ;)

Since she was only a week and a half old when we visited I was able to take some awake shots AND some darling sleepy newborn shots of her.  I just love them!  Here are my favorites (although it was SO hard to pick, she’s the second cutest baby girl ever)

When I first started shooting she was so wide awake and curious. Don’t you just love her eyes?!
