Website Offline…. Saturday & Sunday

I have recently been notified by my web host that my server is going to be moving to a newer and fancier home over the next few days. The new facility should make my website even more stable and quick loading than ever, and I’m hoping that everything goes smoothly :)

That is the good news. The bad news is that to move the server they may need to take my website offline for somewhere between 24 and 48 hours… I’ve been told that between midnight tonight and midnight Sunday there is the possibility that when you go to my site (or this very blog you’re reading now) that they will be MIA….

don't panic

if the site does in fact disappear it should be only a temporary situation and by Monday and we’ll be back to business as usual :) Thanks for your understanding during this brief interruption. Also… please refrain from sending me email while the downtime is going on… I’m not 100% sure if they would eventually make their way to me or not… but I’d rather not risk it! Everything should be back to normal on Monday… Thanks!!

Eddie & Renee Married!

Eddie and Renee were married on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon at Rancho Capistrano in Orange County. They couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque day or a more perfect time of year… all of the fields around their wedding venue were bursting with yellow wild flowers! I was so glad that Crissy invited me along with her to help out at this wedding because it was certainly a day not to be missed! The couple was just beaming all day and the details were so personal and well thought out. All in all it was a gorgeous wedding on a gorgeous afternoon and I was so happy to be invited! Here are a couple of my favorites from the day… starting with the girls getting ready.

There’s nothing better than a bride who’s happy to get into her wedding dress :) I love excited brides!

Eddie and Renee had one of the best ever first dances! They used the song “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson, which just happens to be one of my favorite songs right now, and their choreographed clapping was probably the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! I loved it! :)

This was also one of the funniest bouquet tosses I’ve ever seen… check out the reaction shots, she was so surprised!

And one more just because I love the flowers so…. how beautiful is this bride?! Love it!

Eddie and Renee I hope you had an amazing time on your honeymoon and I wish you a lifetime of happiness together! Special thanks as always to Crissy for having me along :)

Sneak Peek: Eddie & Renee

Some days when you go out to shoot a wedding the sun just shines and the stars align…. and you stumble onto a gorgeous field of yellow wildflowers. Ok…. well that last part has only happened to me once but man I’m sure hoping it happens again soon :) . Eddie and Renee had an amazing wedding at Rancho Capistrano and I was so excited to go along with the lovely Crissy Farah to document their day. It’s been a long week in Vegas at the WPPI convention and I’m quite full to the brim with new information and I still need some time to take in everything I’ve learned so it might be a few more days before I get a “full” post up… but I just couldn’t resist posting this one. How gorgeous is this bride?!?

Out of Town!!

I hate to be unavailable to my clients but I’m off tomorrow morning for the WPPI convention and trade show in Las Vegas. It’s one of the biggest conventions for wedding and portrait photographers and I am so excited that I get to go this year! I’ll be gone from Saturday through Thursday night with only very limited internet access. The good news is I’ll be soaking up all sorts of valuable information and checking out all kinds of fun new products to offer! I cannot wait to meet some new photographers and explore fabulous Las Vegas.

Thank you so much for your patience as it may take me a few days to answer emails during my trip and once I get back and try to get caught up :) Hope you all have a fabulous week!

Laura & Nate Engaged!

The thing that I love most about my job is that no two couples (no two people for that matter) are ever the same. When I show up to an engagement session I never know what exactly to expect, but I’m always prepared to try something a little new if I think it will better suit my clients. Laura and Nate were definitely an unique couple, and so their engagement session had to be as well!
We met up at a laundromat (well laundromat/coffee shop to be exact) which I thought could be a fun and out of the ordinary spot, and then moved on to the Santa Monica airport, where there are lots of rusty old walls and other funky spots to shoot. Laura and Nate described their taste to me as “quirky” and I think that these images do a good job of showing off that side of them!
I normally don’t post engagement sessions this soon after I shoot them, but I’m heading out of town on Saturday and wanted to make sure I got these up before I left! Here are a couple of my favorites….

What good is having a session in a laundromat if you’re not going to ride around in laundry carts? :)

Laura and Nate thanks so much for making the drive up to west LA and thank you for putting your trust in me to take your engagement photos! I can’t wait to have another shot at photographing you on your wedding day (and I can’t wait to see your dress Laura, I’m sure it’s going to be fabulous!). Congratulations and see you very soon!
