About me

My name is Katy Regnier. I found my way into this crazy field of wedding and portrait photography after my own wedding to my amazing husband Ben. I love what I do and I'm absolutely 100% obsessed with documenting your memories in the best way that I know how. I love happy people in love, and I love capturing their smiles. If this sounds like you, I'm sure we'll get along famously! You'll learn a lot more about me by reading my blog than you would reading a bio... but just for kicks here are a couple of random facts you may not know about me:

  • I was born and raised in Southern California
  • I have been a vegetarian for over 16 years
  • I am a mother of twins
  • I love my family, the ocean, dogs, and burritos
  • I sing and dance in the kitchen

Out of Office

July 2, 2009 – 10:08 pm

I can’t believe it’s already July… which means my little sister is getting married in just over a week! Eep!! I am so ridiculously excited to be her matron of honor and spend the week with her getting ready for the big day!

I’ll be out of town from July 3-13th, I won’t have access (or time) to answer my emails so please be patient and I’ll get right back to you as soon as I get home! Of course there will be more pictures when I return as well… so please do check back :)

In the meantime one of my sister’s favorite engagement photos… a bit of a blast from the past since we took them over a year ago when she got engaged. But still a favorite nonetheless. She calls it the superhero shot, I bet you can see why ;)

Kate + 1 {Maternity Portraits}

Kate is one of the women that looks like I wish I’d looked when I was pregnant. Tiny and cute with just the most adorable little bubble of a belly in front. I mean she’s 8 months pregnant and STILL wearing her wedding rings. That’s impressive. I think mine came off at about 5 months due to my gigantic hands :)

Seriously though she looks amazing and I was honored to take some maternity photos for her. Who doesn’t love photographing glowing pregnant women? Here are a few of my favorites

9 Months Old! {My Life}

I feel like I’m posting one of these photos every day, the months are FLYING BY these days! The peanuts turned 9 months old on Friday and wow, they have really changed! Sitting up, crawling (ok, army crawling ;) ) around… it’s a whole new world for them (and one that is in desperate need of baby-proofing!) Take a look at my beautiful little babies… growing up SO fast! Happy 3/4 year birthday guys!

Kris & Heather {Married!}

June 26, 2009 – 9:11 am

Kris and Heather had a gorgeous and intimate ceremony on the viewing platform at Point Dume in Malibu. It was an amazing day with blue skies and puffy clouds… perfect day for an outdoor event (good thing they decided to get married before all this June gloom started to set in right?!) Only the closest family and friends were in attendance which made for an amazing and emotional ceremony presided over by celebrant Venus who did a fantastic job as well. After the ceremony we walked around the beach to take a few portraits and then they were off to their reception dinner. Congratulations Kris and Heather, your wedding was beautiful!

Where on earth have I been?! {My Life}

Ok I have been a terrible blogger (sorry!)  where have I been you ask?

Well I’m glad you asked because I have been BUSY!  My little sister’s getting married in just two and half more weeks (hip hip hooray!) so between that, father’s day, our recent trip to Kansas to visit family AND a massive amount of wedding album design sitting on my plate at home I have been swamped!  I hope you’ll forgive me!

I have lots of fun things to blog coming up very soon but for now how about I join the 21st century with a Facebook page?  I know I know I’m SO BEHIND in not having one already, but come on… I have twins… cut me a break :) So I finally got around to starting one up this morning and poor little old me has only one fan (myself, how sad is that?!) so please go visit my Facebook page and become a fan?  Just click the link below and it should take you right to it… I’ll love you forever!

And because I was out of town for Father’s Day I didn’t get a chance to post and proclaim that Ben is the best father ever (which he is) here’s a belated thank you and picture of superdad in action. Ben you’re the best. I love you and so do the peanuts :) I hope you had a wonderful first Father’s Day!
