More photos from the Palm Springs outing… there were probably 10 or 11 model brides but I really only stuck with two or three…. they were just too gorgeous to move on :) ! I wish I would have had time to photograph more of the girls, but here are some more of my favorites from the models I did get to spend some time with!

  • These are gorgeous shots Katy!
What did you use for off camera lighting?

  • These are fantastic! I think the last one is my fav.

  • Thanks guys :)

Melissa – I was using my handy elinchrom skyports (wireless flash triggers) with my 580 speedlite set on manual. The lighting was super harsh (it was mid-day) so I thought a little off camera flash could be fun! Let me know if you want any more info about how I set it up, but it was pretty simple!

  • Your images of Jessica turned out GORGEOUS!!! She is going to love them :)

  • It was nice meeting you out there Katy! Wish we had a chance to talk/shoot together more though. Hopefully another time. Anyways, awesome job w/ lighting Dominique!!! Thanks for sharing the technique. Did you have a diffuser on the speedlite and was it pointed directly at her? I wanna play around w/ off camera lighting more.

  • Lovely work Katy, all of them are strong, but 5 really grabs my attention – nice focus, whimsical pose in a perfect location. loving the light you are bringing to these of course! :D

  • Ooo… Katy, those are awesome shots! I was just wondering about the lighting and glad that Melissa asked. What do you (or maybe some of you can help) think of using a reflector vs an off camera flash during the day; which is better?
